DEVELOPMENT
DEVELOPMENT AIMS
At Dunnings Squash & Racketball Club we aim to provide a safe and fun environment for all members and guests of all abilities to enjoy playing squash and racketball.
We aim to improve the level of members’ playing standards by making teaching, coaching and support available to all.
We aim to increase participation in squash and racketball for all ages and abilities. We do this by welcoming guests and new members and by running courses for beginners or those returning to the game.
We have a Development Team in the Sussex Leagues to help players gain experience of playing in a team environment.
Mini Squash FUNdation…
…is the first stage of Mini Squash and is vital to the building of skills and confidence. The emphasis is very much on developing key fundamental skills including movement and coordination while being introduced to the basic elements of the game.
Mini Squash Improver…
…introduces young players to playing on a full court. The ball used for this level is bigger, bouncier and slower than a traditional ball thereby giving the player more time to learn and play basic strokes.
Mini Squash PRO…
…is the final stage and prepares children for the full game. Using equipment appropriate to age and ability, players learn more about good technique and tactical awareness while gaining a more realistic experience of squash.
