DUNNINGS SQUASH & RACKETBALL CLUB

Squash has been played at Dunnings in East Grinstead since the 1970’s and it is one of the leading clubs in Sussex. Dunnings Squash and Racketball Club continues that tradition at its new home at East Grinstead Sports Club.

A little bit of history…

Dunnings Mill Squash and Health Club, the former commercially owned home of the club, was closed in July 2008 for residential development of the site. Access to the old courts was available on a short lease until end of May 2009 before the bulldozers moved in!

The players formed Dunnings Squash & Racketball Club in March 2008 to continue to run both Squash & Racketball Leagues and teams and to plan for the future to ensure that new facilities were provided to sustain squash and racketball in the East Grinstead area.

From June 2009 we were homeless! So the club made an arrangement to play it’s team matches at the Kings Centre in East Grinstead and the members joined there in order to continue to play their squash and racketball whilst the newly-formed committee, Chaired by Jeff Morris, sought the funding necessary to build some new courts and a suitable venue for them.

Our New Home…

Fortunately, East Grinstead Sports Club had the space and the desire to be the new home of Dunnings Squash & Racketball Club and in September of 2012 the new courts were opened. And in September 2016 we opened our brand new viewing gallery!

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, gaining new members & coaches, running well-supported internal leagues, tournaments, club nights and teams.

The club welcomes new members of all levels from beginners to county standard. So come and join the friendliest squash & racketball club in Sussex!
